It Nice While It Lasted

Our children have been with my mother this week. They were supposed to stay through Satruday night, but reliable sources inform me that the homesickness fairy has arrived and its time to go and retrieve the young 'uns. While this will interfere with our plans to go to the casino tomorrow night, (thereby doing our part to makeup for centuries of white man oppression of our Indian bretheren), I can't get mad at an 8 year-old who tells his Mom he wants to come home because he misses her. Not if I ever want to get laid again anyway. So while this week has been a nice reminder of what life could be like without kids, ('Hey, let's go to the bar for the next five hours and not worry about a thing', 'hey, let's not wear clothes for two days'), we do miss the little fuckers and it will be good to have them back.

Can anyone babysit tomorrow night?

I'd like to help you out, but it would interfere with my "I Don't Have Kids" party.

If you had bought your trophies from me, I would have offered to babysit.

At least you got the time alone, even if it was cut short. I don't think I've ever had that much time away from my kids.

That hurts Soozie, that really, really hurts.

I paid $72 for 10 trophies. I will easily pay more than half that in babysitting fees tomorrow night. When I was younger, I got $2 an hour.

LOL, pud!

Yeah, I'll do it, limpy.

Watch him backtrack, everybody.

I have to offer to do it, simply to pay you back for the howling laughter this post and the first 2 comments gave me. And you don't have to pay me a cent, just buy my plane ticket. I usually fly into TF Green, but if it's easier to fly me into Hartford or wherever, that's fine too. First class please, leaving from SeaTac.

Damn. I hit publish before I typed the little winkie emoticon that was to signal the levity and general smart-ass tone of the previous comment. My error.

Imagine 3 whole weeks with no kids. Uh huh - I miss my kids a lot when they go away to sleepover camp (starting July 27) but the camp posts photos daily so I can keep up on what fun they're having plus all the fun my wife and I have makes it that much sweeter.
